Red Carpet Round Up: Golden Globes 2017

Are you obsessed with all things awards season? Well I am, and I absolutely can't wait to revel in everything the red carpet has to offer in 2017. Ever since I was a little girl, my mom and I would watch Joan Rivers greet the stars as they arrived at the shows and ask them who they were wearing. While I'm a huge proponent of #askhermore- a movement encouraging red carpet correspondents to ask women more than just fashion questions- I hope the enthusiasm for fantastic fashion moments on the red carpet never ends.

In the spirit of awards season, here are 5 amazing women, quotes that make me love them for more than just what they're wearing, AND dresses I'd love to see them rock on the red carpet this Sunday at the 2017 Golden Globes. Of course I've added suggestions on what Sycamore & Amaranth jewelry they should top it off with, too!

5. Sophia Vergara

Sophia Vergara, Marchesa gown, Fern necklace in silver and lapis

Okay, okay... so she's a presenter this year. I just happen to be madly in love with this confident and hilarious bombshell of a woman. Not to mention I absolutely love her glamorous style. I would love to see Ms. Vergara go full goddess on the red carpet in this iridescent Marchesa gown, and the Fern necklace in silver and iridescent labradorite would be the perfect accent.

"Beauty is really all about confidence. If you feel beautiful, then you are beautiful."

4. Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae, Bottega Venetta suit, and Iris cuff in gold and howlite

The ultimate cool girl! She was in Moonlight, which is nominated in the category Best Drama Motion Picture. Monae strictly wears suits and tuxedos, so I think a great play on her style would be this updated 40's silhouette by Bottega Venneta. Add our Iris cuff in gold and howlite, her signature pop of color on the lip, and she is red-carpet-ready.

"You are only as beautiful as the many beautiful things you do for others without expectation."

3. Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams, Dior gown, Fern earrings in silver and rutilated quartz

Nominated for Best Supporting Actress in Manchester by the Sea, Williams is the queen of the pixie cut. I would love to see her ever-exposed ear lobes adorned with our Fern earrings. She tends to wear frilly and sweet gowns, so I think this Dior number paired with the Rutilated Quartz stone in the earrings to give the look a bit of a graphic edge would be a great look on her!

"I was born with a fierce need for independence."

2. Thandie Newton

Thandie Newton, Alexander McQueen Gown, and Bird of Paradise necklace

If you've seen Westworld, you know why Thandie Newton is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Series. Her performance was unique and outstanding, just like her. On the red carpet, Ms. Newton often opts for black or white graphic dresses. A vampy take on her look- like this Alexander McQueen gown- would be great this time around, and the Bird of Paradise necklace in silver with black stones would be a perfect edgy accent.

"If I could change my appearance, I would have the gap between my front teeth put back in."

1. Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep, Badgley Mischka gown, Bird of Paradise ring in gold and obsidian

What can one say about Meryl Streep that has not already been said? She is such an icon, she will be awarded the Cecil B. DeMille award this year at the Golden Globes. And just to prove her status as a powerhouse, she is also nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Florence Foster Jenkins. Ms. Streep has been wearing more conservative gowns for the past several years, and I think this Badgley Mischka number would be just the right amount of coverage and sparkle. The Bird of Paradise ring would be a great finishing touch for this look, because as someone who played Miranda Priestly knows, the "Devil" is in the details!

"The great gift of human beings is that we have the power of empathy."
